California here I Stay!

So I spent most of the summer in California, I loved it. I got to spend so much time with Beth, and a little with Sarah whenever she wasn’t working (sometimes when she was – I would go and sit in the work truck with her while she worked the scale).
Of course we got some pictures in – we took pictures for Christmas, but you’ll have to wait until Beth sends out her Christmas cards to see those, these are just the ones that we took on the side of the boys. It was a little too hot, the boys were a little too grumpy, but we got some good ones! Mostly I just hung out with Beth, went to Walmart, cooked food, went swimming with the mommies group that goes to the Lamb’s every Tuesday and Friday, and watched shows with Beth and Scott at night when Scott got off. It was great for me because I got to be part of a little family for the summer, I mean I am always a part of Beth’s family, but I got to be part of the little everyday things, the things that really make up life. I also went running with Chopper the dog, sometimes I would go running and Sam and William would ride their bikes. BUT the down side to being in California is that Beth is a really good cook, and she tends to cook really good food, which is rich and fattening! I am ashamed to say I am still trying to run off some of the summer food that I ate at Beth’s – but it isn’t her fault – I just need to build up a resistance to Beth’s cooking!

Dad and Aunt Louise came over for William’s baptism. Sarah made a cake for Dad’s birthday, one that looked like a radio! It was perfect!
William’s baptism was really nice, the first of Beth and Scott’s to turn 8, it is fun to see this family grow.
Dad spent almost all of his time in California doing one of two things; either changing fans around in Beth’s house, replacing and moving it to replace another, or trying to help William catch a fish! They got up early a few days and drove all over trying different lakes, rivers and streams, we also tried the river park for a family night one evening, but no luck – One of these days Dad will make sure that William’s work and determination will pay off and he will catch a fish.

One really fun experience happened while Beth and I were sitting at the kitchen table. I was writing something down – probably a shopping list for Walmart – when I reached over and picked up one of Sam’s hot wheels – I’m not sure why I did, and I will think twice before I do it again – I put it back down and started writing again, only to find a minute later when I put the pencil down that Sam had used super glue to fix something about the car and MY fingers were glued together! And they would not come apart, I ended up using a knife and sawing them, which didn’t hurt because there was so much glue that I didn’t even touch the skin!
