Bonus Horse Show

Rachel and I went with Dana to Vail Pride Day, to see all of the cool things her students (and every single student in the Vail School District) were doing. It was a really neat event, with art/school work from every student, science fair winners from all of the schools, dance/music performances, lots of food and other interesting school/community representatives and activities. However, the bonus was that at the same time on the Pima County Fair Grounds, on the other side of an RV show, there was a horse show. We walked over to it and watched the Junior jumping competition. It was so much fun and since I had my camera, even more fun! It was a great Saturday!

CALI!!!

Aunt Louise, Dad, Rachel and I drove all night to get to California. We enjoyed a Friday of playing at the park, making trains out of chocolate, eating the trains and watching two crazy California sisters in a bread making lesson (Beth teaching Sarah while making them, but Sarah taking credit of course). Saturday Sam was baptized! Funny kid, he laughed though it.

Biosphere Two!!!

January 21, 2012
Dad and Aunt Louise were in town so Rachel and I went with them to Biosphere 2. Rachel and I hadn't been since Dad took us in 1996 or 7, when I was in Jr. High. For spring break, Dad (who had been doing some electrical engineering work for them) took us all on a tour. Aunt Louise had never been. It was really interesting. There are a lot of new experiments going on now that U of A took it over. Rachel also got some free tickets from work, so we took the time to go and explore this unique complex in this area.

Hannah's Blessing

Tim blessed Hannah Oct. 16, 2011. David, Daniel, Jon and families were all there. Dad and Aunt Louise, Rachel and I too. We brought Grandma over from Tucson. It was fun day to see everyone and Tim did a great job, Hannah too, but when picture time came around she through with it all!

Horseback Riding With Nikki

Nikki got horseback riding passes on groupon and invited me to come along. It was great fun, though we didn't count on the rain, it just made it all the more memorable!

Labor Day Weekend!

Rachel and I went to the mountains for a break from the heat. It has been over 100 degrees and I for one am sick of it and can't wait for the fall weather. So I quit waiting for a weekend and took Rachel and headed north. We spent the time enjoying the coolness, the trees and just being in the country. It was beautiful weather the entire time. We spent most of the time in Shumway at Jon's house.
For breakfast the first morning I was home I had
Monday Morning before Rachel and I headed back to Tucson, we went woodcutting with Jon's family. We went to the old burn area, to look for alligator juniper and oak. It didn't take long for us all to look like chimney sweeps, for some reason my face was the blackest. We hauled a horsetrailer full of heavy oak and juniper up a hill after hacking it up with a chainsaw. I love the power behind a chainsaw and all that it brings, and how much easier it makes the work.
